Kildare under-21 selector Tom Cribbin will not be a selector with Kieran McGeeney’s senior side next year.

Cribbin, the former Laois and Offaly senior manager, is embarking on an extreme fitness regime in 2013 and hopes to compete in an Ironman Triathlon (3.8km swim, 180km cycle and 42km run) next summer.

“From early on in my discussions with Kieran, I told him that I do triathlons and stuff during the summer and I’d hope to do a half Ironman next year or maybe even a full Ironman,” said Cribbin.

McGeeney has still not appointed a replacement selector after Niall Carew suddenly resigned two weeks ago after five years alongside the Armagh man.
