FORMER Kildare footballer Tadhg Fennin reckons 2013 is ‘make-or-break’ for Kieran McGeeney and Kildare.

“Most people realise after five years and with the bit of a shake-up in the back-room team this year, it will be make-or-break,” said Fennin, who won a Leinster title in 2000. “There are some guys that have been on the go with Kieran a long time now, these guys will want to make their mark sooner rather than later. Every year is make or break for Kildare, because the potential is there, it’s just trying to realise it. The foundations are there and I think nothing less than a Leinster final is on the agenda.”

Fennin was speaking ahead of this year’s National Football League, along with another former Lily Ken Donnelly as well as 1992 All-Ireland winner with Donegal (who Kildare face in their first league encounter this weekend) Brian Murray, who has played with and managed Kilcock. Check out what they had to say on page 73 of this week’s Kildare Nationalist.
