Niall Kelly scores a goal for Kildare against Cork

Kildare are second in Division 1 after their second successive win of the National Football League campaign.

Saturday night’s 2-10 to 1-9 win against Cork moved the Lilies top of the table overnight but Dublin’s emphatic 10-point victory against Kerry this afternoon moves them ahead of their Leinster rivals on score difference. Tyrone are the only other Division 1 team with maximum points so far having chalked up their second win against Mayo thanks to a dramatic late penalty goal from Stephen O’Neill.

Second half goals from Niall Kelly and Paddy Brophy propelled Kildare to their victory on Leeside against 14-man Cork, who had wing-back Damien Cahalane sent off early in the second half for a boot to Kelly.
