MONASTEREVIN man Mark Cornish has been appointed as Head Physio at League 2 side Crewe Alexandra.

Mark Cornish spent two years with Swansea City’s academy and has now been appointed as Crewe Alexandra’s Head Physio

Cornish’s first venture into working at professional soccer clubs in England saw him work at Accrington Stanley but he has spent the last two years working as Head Physio at the Academy of Premier League Swansea City.

Speaking on his Facebook page, Cornish confirmed the move.

“I’ve had a brilliant time and worked with some really skilled staff, coaches, medical staff and players that have very bright futures ahead. I’ve loved my time in Wales and will particularly miss the kindness of the Welsh people that made me and my family feel so welcome.

“I’m looking forward to the next step in my career as I take on the first team Head Physio job at Crewe Alexandra for the coming season.”

Crewe Alexandra finished mid-table in League 2 last season and include former Irish internationals Paul Green and Eddie Nolan among their ranks.

Cornish was part of the Monasterevin side that won the Kildare and Leinster intermediate titles in 2012 and still runs very successful physio clinics in Kildare Town and Monasterevin.
