KILDARE Co Council has nominated three projects for this year’s IPB Pride of Place Awards in association with Co-operation Ireland.

Nominated in the category of Housing Estates is Ardrew Meadows, Athy; the council’s Activator programme for social inclusion is nominated in the Community Wellbeing Initiative category and the zero waste community garden in Rathcoffey is the nominated project under Creative Place Initiative.

All groups will have an opportunity to showcase their projects when judging takes place next Monday and Tuesday 15 and 16 July.

The winners of the competition will be announced at a gala awards ceremony at the Lyrath Hotel, Kilkenny on   Saturday 30 November.

Kildare Co  Council extends best wishes to all nominees.

This is the 17th year of the IPB Pride of Place Awards.  The purpose of the competition is to acknowledge the work being done every day by communities all over the island of Ireland and it continues to grow in popularity and prestige.

Pride of Place is an all-island initiative, across all 32 counties, and is organized amongst local authorities.
