The pupils of Gaelscoil Átha Í were definitely “ag obair as lámha a chéile” when three classes visited the library in Athy for an SEAI Energy workshop.

Our Naíonáin Mhóra, Rang 1 and Rang 4 really enjoyed learning about how much energy we use, what gives us energy, where electricity comes from and about renewable and non-renewable energy sources, with the senior children making their own batteries even!

The children also got to meet Guzzler in person and even competed in ‘Guzzler’s Energy Challenge’ to see which class had absorbed the most information to ensure they didn’t end up in the dump!!

The session was very beneficial to the children, not to mention incredibly topical and the school was very grateful to the library and to Úna from SEAI for the wonderful presentation.

Go raibh míle maith agaibh!
