JACK O’Connor has named his first Kildare matchday squad ahead of Saturday’s O’Byrne Cup game against Longford (St Conleths Park, 2pm).

The Kerryman has named a squad of 30 players and it includes a whole host of players getting their first taste of senior intercounty action. Daniel Flynn returns after his year long absence and he is joined by Neil Flynn and senior debutant Jack Robinson in an exciting looking full forward line. Liam Healy, Shea Ryan and Johnny Byrne return to the defence after absences of various lengths while the likes of Eoghan Bateman, Liam Power and John Tracey will hope to take the chance to impress. David Hyland will captain the team.
