Lourdesville Nursing Home in Kildare was one of the recipients

KILDARE town Scouts took on the role of the Easter bunny last week, delivering Easter wishes and plenty of chocolate eggs to local nursing homes and children in hospital.

Scouters from the 4th Kildare Town Scout Group donated nearly 220 Easter eggs, with greeting cards, to Ashley Lodge Nursing Home (Tully East), Lourdesville Nursing Home (Athy Road) and Beechpark Nursing Home (Dunmurray) in Kildare, as well as the Children’s Ward at the Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise.

Wayne Fitzgerald, Deputy Group Leader, explained that the chocolate eggs were originally meant for their more than 200 youth members in the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Ventures sections. However, they opted to share some festive joy in a fantastic display of community spirit during a difficult time.
