Two motorists caught speeding in Kildare recently have been slapped with fixed charge penalty notices (FCPNs).

Naas Roads Policing Unit was conducting a checkpoint on the N7 at Kill when a vehicle was detected travelling at 138km/h in a 100km/h zone. The driver faces an €80 fine and three penalty points.

In a separate incident, the same unit caught the driver of a car on the M4 doing 150km/h on a wet road surface. A FCPN was issued and gardaí have reminded motorists to slow down.
