NEW manager, same old Moorefield.

Ronan ‘Roli’ Sweeney’s life as Moorefield manager in the Championship began with an easy win over Carbury this evening on a final scoreline of 2-20 to 1-6.

Eanna O’Connor scored a brilliant 12 points, ten frees, from 12 shots and goals from Ciaran Kelly in the first half and Ian Meehan meant a comfortable day at the office for last year’s runners up.

Sean Haslem scored an injury time goal for Carbury but it was nothing more than a consolation.

Saturday’s results –

SFC: Celbridge 4-20 Confey 2-7, Round Towers 1-11 Naas 0-11, Moorefield 2-20 Carbury 1-6.

IFC: Allenwood 1-15 Two Mile House 0-7, Ballyteague 0-16 Kilcullen 0-6, Sallins 1-14 Nurney 0-9.
