Although Carbury squeezed out Maynooth in the other Round 3 in the group it was Frank Hanniffy’s Raheens men who march on to the quarter final where they will play defending county champions, Sarsfields. Moorefield who just about topped the group in the end will face high-scoring Johnstownbridge.

Billy O’Loughlin managed Sarsfields found the going tough before edging out St Laurences to top Group B while the aforementioned, Johnstownbridge, as expected, defeated Eadestown in a high scoring game at Hawkfield, although an injury to Daniel Flynn might be a cause for them and indeed Kildare Manager, Jack O’Connor.
