It’s been a tough schedule for Jamie Smith’s side as they make up for lost time due to the lockdown within the county. This was their third win in a week and another win at home to Waterford next Sunday could be enough to reach the quarter-finals if Carlow/Kilkenny fail to win their game at the weekend.

Wexford made things as difficult as possible and took the lead in first half. Kildare got back on level terms in the second half after Finn Cowper-Grey was fouled inside the penalty area. James Crawford’s penalty was saved by the home goalkeeper but Crawford was quickest to the rebound and made no mistake at the second attempt.
Danny Uchendu then gave Kildare the lead when he converted from close range after some determined play on the left by Trisden Hughes.
Kildare played on the front foot throughout the game and played particularly well in the second half. Johnny Adedeji completed the win late on with a spectacular long range effort as this young side continues to impress.
