ONE of the oldest animal welfare groups in Ireland is launching its Christmas Gift Donation Cards this week (21 November), and purchasing in aid of this great cause couldn’t be easier.

The Athgarvan-based Kildare and West Wicklow Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (KWWSPCA) was founded in 1940, and provides much needed shelter and succour to abandoned animals across the two counties.

“You can support the KWWSPCA this Christmas, AND tick off that Christmas gift list,” said KWWSPCA Chair Yvonne McGuinness.

“Our Posted Gift Donation Cards are available now, and are ideal gifts for friends and loved ones.

“You send us a donation and we will send out the Donation Cards to your friends and family, saying that you have donated to the KWWSPCA,” said Yvonne.

To get your Gift Donation Card, make a donation (€10 minimum) through the KWWSPCA Facebook page, or through PayPal via email on [email protected]

“If you mark it for ‘Gift Card’ and pay as a friend no commission will be charged,” Yvonne advised.

After that, if you email Yvonne with ‘Donation Card’ in the subject line with the details of the sender’s and recepient’s name, whatever message you’d like to include, the postal address to which to send the card, and whether you’d like the amount donated to be included in the card.

The KWWSPCA is also raising money this Festive Season through online auctions on the Facebook page of their Newbridge-based charity shop – Noah’s Ark.
