FINGERS are crossed that racing will go ahead at Naas on this Sunday for a prestigious meeting which includes the Grade 1 Lawlor’s of Naas Novice Hurdle. The track at Naas is currently unfit for racing due to frost and should this race meeting be cancelled, Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) has announced that it will be held next Wednesday, 13 January. Original entries will stand for all races with the exception of the Grade 1 Lawlor’s Of Naas Novice Hurdle which will revert to entries after forfeit. Fresh declarations to run will need to be made by 10am next Monday, 11 January. The time of the first race will be at 12.50pm.Horse Racing Ireland has announced new dates for the race meetings that have been lost to the weather this week.


Here’s hoping for racing at Naas on Sunday! Trainer Gordon Elliott and 2020 Lawlor’s Of Naas Novice Hurdle winner Envoi AllenHRI has also announced a schedule of dates for meeting which already have been postponed because of the weather. The Fairyhouse meeting which was scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday, 9 January ) will now be held next Tuesday, 12 January. Original entries stand but fresh declarations must be made by 10am this Sunday, 10 January. The time of the first race will be at 11.50am.

The Clonmel meeting that was scheduled for yesterday (Thursday, 7 January) will now be held on Tuesday, 19 January. This meeting will close for fresh entries by 12 noon on Thursday, 14 January with declarations to run to be made by 10am on Sunday, 17 January. The time of the first race will be at 1.05pm.
