ONE OF the hardest working charities in Kildare is seeking volunteers to do a sponsored five kilometre walk over the Easter weekend in an effort to alleviate the losses of another Covid cancellation.

The Kildare and West Wicklow Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ (KWWSPCA) usual Good Friday ‘Dog Walk and Easter Egg Hunt’ at Punchestown cannot take place this Friday due to Covid restrictions.

“We would therefore like to invite all our supporters to do their own sponsored five km walk – or a longer or shorter walk if it suits better – over the Easter weekend, within their 5 km radius, and collect sponsorship for the KWWSPCA,” said Sally McCaffery from her Athgarvan base.

“You can copy a sponsorship card from our website, or email your address to us or call 087 6803295 or 086 3413017 and we can send one in the post,” she said.

“If you would prefer not to collect sponsorship, but would still like to support the KWWSPCA and do an Easter Walk, perhaps you could send a donation via PayPal or the Donate button on the homepage of the website,” she added.

Alternatively donations can be sent by post to KWWSPCA Shelter, Oldtown, Athgarvan W12 RV60, Co. Kildare.
