Kildare reported 802 cases of COVID-19 across its eight Local Electoral Areas (LEAs) between 31 August and 13 September.
Newbridge LEA had the highest number of cases (157) during that period, followed closely by Naas (155), then Maynooth (114), and Kildare (113).
Clane LEA had 82 cases, Athy had 75 cases, Celbridge had 61, while Leixlip had 45.
Nationally, there was a 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 population of 413.2. Just two of the county’s LEAs – Newbridge (442.5) and Kildare (439.7) registered above that figure.
Meanwhile, today marked a significant milestone for businesses across Kildare which have been welcoming staff back to the workplace.
Organised indoor group activities (sports, arts, culture, dance classes) can take place with capacity limits of 100 people where all patrons are immune (full vaccinated or recovered from COVID within the previous six months), and restrictions on outdoor group activities for participants are being removed.
