CASTLEMITCHELL GFC held a fun run/walk along the Blueway as a send-off to Tracey Doran, who is heading off shortly with the Irish Defence forces to service in Lebanon.

Tracey joined Castlemitchell this year as a senior ladies trainer and she was also involved with the victorious under 16 girls who won the league this year.

A fun run/walk was held on Saturday 16 October to wish her ‘bon voyage’.

The route was over 3km from the clubhouse, down the Blueway as far as Dilly Dally coffee shop where the participants enjoyed complimentary cupcakes.

Back at the clubhouse a small representation was made to Tracey from the underage teams , a Castlemitchell flag and ball for her journey.

Tracy said the flag will be flying proudly in Lebanon. Later that evening there was a surprise get together in Paddy Dunnes, where members of the club and senior ladies made another presentation to Tracey, this time a ladies jersey for her to pack on her journey!

All in Castlemitchell wish her a safe journey and safe tour of duty and look forward to seeing her back out on the pitch in May.

Photographer Aisling Hyland was on hand to capture the event.
