A vigil is being held at the canal harbour in Naas at 6pm on Friday evening 14 January to remember Ashling Murphy.
The vigil is being organized by a local person who like everyone, is shocked and deeply saddened by what happened to Ashling Murphy yesterday.]
“I intend to go down to the harbour in Naas with a candle to take a few moments to think of her and her loved ones. If anyone is feeling equally hopeless and heartbroken and angry about what’s happened to her, and far too many other women, I invite you to join me in honouring her memory tomorrow.
“There are similar things happening across the country and I thought it might be comforting for the people of Naas to have somewhere to go too.
If you do want to attend, please bring a mask with you and be mindful of social distancing.”
