Confey’s Paul Divilly makes his first appearance of the season after recovering from a long term injury and he will be partnered in midfield by Leixlip’s Jack Travers.

Niall O Muineachain and Rian Boran are relocated to their more normal positions of right full back and centre half back respectively. In attack U20 captain, Cathal McCabe, is at corner forward in place of the suspended Gerry Keegan while Shane Ryan comes in at full forward as his club colleague, Jack Sheridan, steps down to the bench. Another U20 player, Paul Dolan, is included on the bench.

Kildare are firm favourites for the 2022 Christy Ring Cup and Herity and his players have made no secret of their ambitions to return to the Joe McDonagh Cup by winning the Ring Cup.

A good start against Mayo in Ballina is vital on the road to realising those ambitions.
