Athy Triathlon Club were delighted to be awarded Club of the Year at the recent Triathlon Ireland 2021 award ceremony day held in the National Aquatic Centre and the grounds of Sport Ireland Campus.

The awards were a delayed event from the 2021 race season. The day itself celebrated all things triathlon, with fun splash and dash events for juniors and club relay team races for the seniors. It finished off with triathletes receiving their race awards for the 2021 season. ATC juniors raced brilliantly last year and picked up some awards in the new Costcutter Youth Series.

Already this year, the club has hosted its Flat Out National Series Duathlon, three day Junior Easter Camp and are just coming to the end of their six-week New to Tri and Back to Tri programme.

The club, now in its tenth year, has a number of celebrations planned for 2022 to celebrate this anniversary and having received Club of the Year will make these celebrations even more special.

Athy Triathlon Club would like to say thank you to everyone for their well wishes and congratulations, the local community who are always so generous with their grounds for hosting events, and to Triathlon Ireland for all their help over the years.

With a thriving junior section, the future definitely looks bright for Athy Triathlon Club for many more years to come.
