DEFENDING Champions, Eadestown, will contest the Kildare LGFA Senior Championship Final where they will meet Sarsfields in a repeat of the 2020 Final which Eadestown won.
In the semi finals on Tuesday night Sarsfields defeated Confey 2-17 to 2-12 while Eadestown had a comfortable 5-16 to 1-5 victory over Maynooth.
The Final is, surprisingly, fixed for Friday night, 23 September in Manguard Plus Kildare GAA Centre of Excellence, Hawkfield at 8pm.
Kildare LGFA of course, are without a county manager at the moment after Sean Finnegan stepped down to join Kevin McStay’s Backroom Team in Mayo, a situation that pertained at the same stage of the championship last year. It is known that a number of strong management teams have applied for the vacant position but there are no indications, as yet, that the process will be completed in time for the County Final which means that the new Manager will not have seen any of the championship matches. Not an ideal preparation for compiling a county squad.
Naas will face Kilcullen in the Intermediate Final and it will be Raheens V Na Fianna in the Junior A Final. The Junior B Final will be contested between Milltown and Two Mile House while it will be Maynooth (2) and Rathcoffey in the Junior C Final.
All these matches are scheduled for Hawkfield on Saturday 24 September with times to be confirmed.
In the Senior Relegation Final Leixlip defeated Kilcock to retain their senior status while Cappagh retained their Intermediate status by defeating Carbury.
