THE Alliance League Fixtures for 2023 have finally been confirmed with Kildare footballers opening their Division 2 NFL campaign with an away game to Dublin in Croke Park on Saturday 28 January while the hurlers are away to Carlow in their Division 2A opener a week later on Saturday 4 February.

In Round 2 Glenn Ryan’s team will host Cork in Newbridge before travelling to Ennis to face Clare on Sunday 19 February.

Kildare are at home again in Round 3 as they host Ulster Champions, Derry and they’ll renew rivalry with newly promoted Mickey Harte’s Louth in Ardee on Sunday 5 March.

In the concluding two rounds Kildare are away to Limerick on Sunday 19 March and will conclude their campaign with a match in Newbridge against old foes, Meath, now managed by Colm O’Rourke on Sunday 26 March.

Three home and four away, including two in a row, is a tough ask in Division 2.

After travelling to Carlow in Round 1 of Division 2A of the NHL David Herity’s hurlers will host Down, who they dramatically beat last year, in Round 2 on Sunday 12 February.

Next up in Round 3 Kildare have a difficult assignment away to Derry on Sunday 26 February and the Lilywhites will conclude their campaign with a home match against Kerry on Saturday 11 March and an away match to Offaly in Tullamore on Sunday 19 March.

Two at home and three away is again a difficult task for the Kildare hurlers.
