O’Brien, the man affectionately known as The Tullow Tank, made 126 appearances for Leinster and 14 for London Irish and he was capped 56 times for Ireland and five times for the British and Irish Lions.
The 35 year old made his debut from the bench for Naas in the corresponding fixture in Ollie Campbell Park last October which was narrowly won by the hosts 25-22. The Tullow man was unfortunate to sustain an injury during that game which has kept him out of the game since.
Last time out Naas suffered a 32-17 reversal against Malone in Gibson Park while Old Belvedere had a comprehensive 34-7 win at home over Buccaneers. The Dublin club lie in second place in the League on 52 points after 15 games, four points behind leaders, City of Armagh. Naas meanwhile are in seventh place on 34 points.
The inclusion of O’Brien on the Naas team should not only boost the team on the pitch but it should also swell the attendance for the game but the Forenaughts side will also look to the likes Matt Stapleton, Charlie Sheridan, Pater King, and Ryan Casey of to get them back on their winning ways.
