PATRICIAN Secondary School, Newbridge sent their rugby and soccer teams into Shield Final action on Monday afternoon and both came away with exciting victories.

The Rugby team made the short trip down to the Showgrounds, the home of Athy RFC, to take on Presentation Carlow in the Duff Shield Junior Final and they came away with a 24-14 victory.

Meanwhile the soccer team crossed the Dublin border to take on Colaiste Pobail Setanta in the FAI Schools Leinster Boys Junior Shield Final at the home of Peamount United in Rathcoole and they came away with a 2-1 victory
