THE Summer Racing & BBQ Evenings have grown from strength to strength over the last few years at Naas Racecourse and they announced on Thursday what is in store for the upcoming 2023 summer season at the Kildare track.

Traditional Irish folk and ballad band, The Kilkenny’s, will kick off the first of three Summer Racing & BBQ dates on Wednesday evening, 28 June. The evening also features the Listed Al Shira’aa Racing Irish EBF Naas Oaks Trial, the 2020 renewal of the race was won by the Ger Lyons-trained Even So, who confirmed the calibre of the Naas trial when going on to win the Irish Oaks at The Curragh on her next start.

The second Summer Racing & BBQ meeting will take place on a Saturday afternoon, 8 July on the Naas Town Goes Racing Day. The race day aims to encourage locals to embrace their local racetrack and incorporates something for everyone including great racing, summer BBQ, family fun activities, charity mascot race and live music after racing from BAZZA – DJ, sax & drums.

The last Wednesday evening meeting will take place on 26 July which features the Listed Yeomanstown Stud Irish EBF Stakes and will once again host well-known band, After Dark, playing live after racing.

The BBQ packages start from just €30 with the BBQ Pavilion Package €55. The BBQ Pavilion is located adjacent to the parade ring and the package includes admission to the races, a race card, a full BBQ meal, reserved table in the pavilion and access to live music after racing. There are also general admission tickets available for €15 for racing and music.

There is always a great buzz around the track on these evenings and we look forward to kicking off the Summer Season on Wednesday 28 June.

Racing on both Wednesday evenings will start at approximately 5.30pm, with the Saturday 8 July being an earlier start of 2.10pm. Admission and hospitality tickets to the races with access to live music after racing are all available online at www.naasracecourse.com.
