Killashee hotel donates to DEBRA Ireland

The Killashee Hotel and FBD Hotels teamed up to raise money for Debra Ireland, which supports those affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare and painful genetic skin condition.

EB, otherwise known as ‘butterfly skin’ is an incurable skin disorder that causes the skin to become very fragile and tear or blister easily with friction.

Killashee Hotel raised €4,878 through the inspiring efforts of its General Manager, Ger Alley, who ran the Dublin City Marathon in October 2024 in aid of DEBRA Ireland.

Recognising the significance of this cause, David Kelly, CEO of FBD Hotels & Resorts, matched the Killashee’s total fundraising amount, contributing an additional €4,700 on behalf of the group.

The total between both came to an incredible €9,578.

This contribution was raised in support of Emma Fogarty and the EB community and was presented at the Killashee hotel.

David Kelly commented: “We are thrilled to match Killashee Hotel’s outstanding fundraising efforts in support of DEBRA. Supporting charitable initiatives is a key part of our ethos at FBD Hotels & Resorts, and this cause is particularly meaningful given the longstanding connection between Killashee and Emma Fogarty.”
